Looking beyond the stars, transforming a planetarium

To transform an observation centre into a space for interdisciplinary culture.

This brand was created, drawing inspiration from the vastness and structure of the universe. It uses concentric circles and radial lines to evoke planetary orbits, stellar trajectories and the cosmic order.

An identity for an expanding universe.

A planetarium is, at heart, a machine for looking: a ceiling that becomes a sky. Pamplona's, opened in 1993 in Yamaguchi Park, is preparing something more ambitious than a renovation for 2027: a change of orbit. It ceases to be a broadcaster of content and becomes an active agent in an ecosystem of learning, innovation and contemporary creation, where scientific knowledge also travels through emotion and wonder. La Fábrica drew up that strategy for Nicdo in its cultural audit; ours was the task of giving it a body: a name, a voice and an image.

The name as the first act of identity.

Every identity begins by knowing how to say its own name. Planetario Pamplona — Iruña Planetarioa says it in both of the city's languages, not in duplicate but by right: bilingualism as a trait of identity, not a formality. And above that name, a baseline that compresses the whole strategy into two words: Universo expandido. What once fitted under a dome now occupies the common ground of science, humanism and contemporary creation.

An identity in orbit: the dome as axis.

An identity proves itself at its extremes: it must hold equally on a twelve-metre hanging banner and on a business card. The coordinated graphics set the rules for every medium in the space and anticipate its digital ecosystem — web, social media, newsletter, screens — and a standards manual leaves the system documented.
